THIS WORK IS CURRENTLY IN PRODUCTION
(and will be for a bit of time, this is just a preview)
“100 Ways of Connection” is a series of 100 videos and “actions” on how to sensorially connect with nature. It was completed in the wilderness of Alaska on the shores of Qizhjeh Vena near Lake Clark National Park. Accessible only by plane and boat and home to the Dena'ina people. It was shot solo in its entirety by Ari on an Iphone & Gopro.
It will be created into a series of films, a documentary, and an exhibition.
Through making tools, choreographing actions, mimicking/mirroring the environment, and following my gut instincts I sought to create a joyful and iterative methodology for uncovering possibilities between human and place.
The goal of this project was to use the senses as a framework in order to connect the “innate” human and nature. Creating a methodology and practice for others so that they may understand and embody the practice that one’s deeply personal relationship with nature is vital for radical regeneration.
