Did you know, you carry water through the desert simply by walking? The Mojave Desert Water Scarves aid in the exploration of the relationship between the human body and water in the desert. The scarves were developed as part of a series of artist and ranger co-led walking tours of riparian (where water meets the land) habitats in the Mojave Desert. Through a carefully curated experience balancing sensory exploration and conservation discussions, the participants come into direct contact with at-risk natural resources.
“The future of conservation is not just with scientists and conservationists, it is with designers and artists. The creatives are the ones who can communicate the complexities of our environmental issues to the public at large.”
